Health Mart Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction in J.D. Power and Associates U.S. Pharmacy Study for Third Time in Four Years

October 1, 2012

SAN FRANCISCO — Health Mart®, a leading franchise of more than 3,000 independently owned pharmacies, today announced that the franchise achieved the highest ranking in overall customer satisfaction among chain drug store pharmacies in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. National Pharmacy Study℠. This is the third time in four years that Health Mart has ranked the highest among chain drug stores.

“Being recognized for achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates is a tremendous honor and a recognition of our commitment to the outstanding, personalized care consumers receive from Health Mart pharmacies every day,” said Stephen E. Courtman, president, Health Mart. “In addition to Health Mart surpassing 3,000 member pharmacies this year, this recognition from consumers further reinforces the value patients receive from Health Mart pharmacies and Health Mart’s continued dedication to patients and communities across the country.”

“There are many ways to define what pharmacists do, but ultimately it comes down to serving the needs of our patients and not only listening to what they want but also what they need. That is at the heart of everything we do at Gateway Health Mart, whether it’s offering specialty compounding, weekend vaccination clinics, community-outreach screenings, diabetes education and MTM services or Medicare Part D counseling,” said Mark Aurit, owner, Gateway Health Mart Pharmacy, Bismarck, ND. “The recognition from our customers for Health Mart having the highest customer satisfaction among chain drug store pharmacies for the third time in four years demonstrates the power of the partnership between Health Mart and community pharmacies. By being a Health Mart pharmacy, we have access to the tools and resources we need to focus our attention on our patients, and deliver the personalized care and services they deserve.”

The 2012 U.S. Pharmacy Study was fielded between July and August 2012 with responses from more than 12,700 customers who filled a new prescription or refilled a prescription during the three months prior to the survey period. In its sixth year, the Study measures overall customer satisfaction with pharmacies using five key factors that contribute to customer satisfaction: prescription ordering; store; cost competitiveness; non-pharmacist staff; and pharmacist.
